Let's start with a workout recap from yesterday:

50 bicycle crunches
inner thigh raises-50 each leg

For cardio my friend from the gym and I went outside for a 6 ish mile run.  It was dark...and freezing...but I felt so much better than my last run.  Success!

Yesterday we had a school friend over to play.  It was our first time and the excitement in our house was running high.  I wanted to make sure that they had fun so we decided to do sugar cookies.  I used this recipe which is the best recipe.  It is all butter and basically shortbread.  And its so easy...try it, you will not be disappointed.  I threw a little lime juice and lime zest in the frosting and they were awesome.  So awesome I ate like ten.  Go me.  :)

You must apply the frosting very carefully.  :)

She made a snowman with hers by stacking them up.

Dinner was fast cuz I was in a hurray to get to guitar.  We had taquitos with roasted brussel sprouts.  It was so fast and easy.

I sauteed some onion in lime juice, honey, garlic, olive oil, and chili powder.

I heated up some corn tortillas in the pan without rinsing out.  You want that flavor on your tortilla people.

Line a pan with tinfoil and spray with pam.  I mixed a can of chicken with a tablespoon of light sour cream and chili powder.  Put some chicken on the tortilla, then the sweet onions, then some cilantro.

Roll em up tight and spray with pam...then sprinkle with sea salt.

Bake in a 400 degree oven for about 15 minutes or so.  This dinner hit the spot.  It was so good.

Today started out with breakfast in bed.  I did not wake up to work out and I guess my hubs knew the only way to get me to wake up was to bring me food.  He knows me well.  He made me an omelet with veggies.  Thanks darling!

We were on the go all morning so I snacked on rice cakes, and half a York patty in the car.  Not so great but it worked.

I made this salad beast for lunch and about died at it's goodness.  It was lettuce and spinach, chicken, pears, feta, and pecans, topped with a little balsamic vinegar and a titch of poppy seed dressing.  I inhaled it.  Surprise, surprise.

All afternoon was spent working on Halloween costumes.  I am proud to say that they are done!!!  With hours to spare before the kids class parties in the morning.  :)

My kids love raw veggies and ranch.  Much more so than cooked.  So when dinnertime rolls around and they are snacky I give them this.  They love it and I don't feel bad if this spoils their dinner.

He loved to dip his trees.  Dinner was veggies, salad, and turkey muffins.  I got this recipe from Candice's blog.  It was so easy and quick I will definitely make these again.  The best kids loved them and gobbled them up.  They are basically egg, ground turkey, spices, sweet potato, onion, and celery.  I tweaked my recipe a teeny bit but they are pretty much the same.  I added some garlic and red pepper and didn't use the celery because I was out.

I finally got to the gym around six pm.  It was weird.  I do not like going at night at all.  Here's what I did:

Running the rack (gpp)
Bicep curls
Back rows
*I repeated the rack three times and my arms were shaking.

T bar machine back rows-15
BB alternating curls-20
Lat pulldowns-10
*repeat three times

Plank with alternating rear deltoid fly-10 each arm
DB curls-15 each arm
*repeat three times

Cardio was 15 minutes on the stairstepper and a 15 minute sprint workout.  One minute on one minute off.

Now I'm off to bed so I can get up at 4:45.  Sigh.  Gotta get my shut eye stat.

A workout and a new recipe....for Xela :)

I woke up before five today.  Blah.  But I made it to spin.  I love spin....I am always a sweaty mess after which is a good thing in my book.  Then I did a workout adapted from gpp:

STAB = (shoulders, triceps, abs and biceps)

Shoulder Medley - 4 rounds
           20 front raises 15/20
           20 upright row 15/20
           20 OH press 15/20
Triceps Medley - 4 rounds
            20 narrow push-ups  BW
            20 skull crushers 15/20
            20 OH French press 15/20
Ab Medley - 4 rounds
            20 situps
            20 R side ups
            20 L side ups
            20 Superman back ext's
Biceps 21’s - 4 rounds   (see demo)
            7 bottom to half 15/20
            7 half to full 15/20
            7 full 15/20
*I only had time for three rounds of each but I did add on 9 or so 1 minute sprints between sets.

Post workout was a spinach protein shake.  Then at about ten forty five I ate this.....

1 egg, 3 egg whites, with two corn tortillas on the side.  I ate this in the car.  Not the easiest thing to do.

Then I needed some cookies.  Stat.  So I made some healthified pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.  They were delicious and I ate two right out of the oven.

Here is what I did:

Mix together:
2 cups oat flour
1 cup coconut flour
(I would have used some whole wheat flour but didn't have any or any time to grind up some more.)
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 scoop chocolate protein powder
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
2 Tbs. truvia
2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
2 egg whites
2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/2 cup chocolate chips

Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes.

These were really good.  My kids like them as well as did the hubs.  Success.

Then it was off to get a root canal!  What?!  I was sweating bullets.  I have never had one of those before and the unknown was too much.  Thank goodness I got high off the laughing gas or I would have been a shaky mess.   I sit on my kitchen floor and make sad faces when I'm worried.  Ya know...who doesn't?

When I got home the hubs made me lunch.....

Edamame for my "appetizer."  :)

And grilled cheese with tomato soup.  I shared the sandwich with Ollie.  She was hungry.  My kids are always hungry when mommy has food.

For dinner Joey cooked up some squash and I managed to throw together a side dish and some ravioli.  Big whoop.  My kids love ravioli so it wasn't too bad.

The side was brown rice with feta, craisins, pecans, spinach, salt and pepper, and a little fresh lemon juice squeezed into the mix.  Good....but not the best.  Probably cuz I didn't really want to eat after the numbness wore off.  Poor me.

The best weekend!

We seriously had the best time in Colorado.  We stayed with Joey's aunt and uncle Janet and Duane.  They spoil us...and spoil our kiddos even more.  We had such a good time exploring, relaxing, and eating the best food.  I ate good this weekend.  Really good.  Not clean....good.  I ate so much junk but it was awesome.  We enjoyed ourselves.

This is my view from my bed in the morning.  We would open up the curtains and watch the sun light up the Colorado Monument.  Gorgeous.  Then out kids would scream from the other room and ruin the moment.  :)

I worked out Friday morning and then enjoyed this for breakfast.  That honey in the background is from Duane's bees.  He harvests it.  He gave us that whole jar to take home.  Friday afternoon we headed over to my cousin Mindy's house to let our kids play with her kids.  It was so good to catch up with her.

Janet and Duane watched all the kids that might so we could go to dinner with Mindy and Phil.  We hit up some Asian joint.  I ordered some sushi and the lemongrass chicken.  Sushi was good....

But this was nasty.  I only ate a couple of bites.  I filled up on sushi.  We of course got fro-yo after.  Having babysitters and lots of people to play with makes me want to make this trip 4 times a year!

Saturday morning we biked up the Colorado Monument.  It was quite a climb but not too bad.  The weather was gorgeous and so were the views.

"Come on can make it."  This is at the beginning of the climb...probably a mile and half in or so.

Us.  I was doing great here.  My clips on my shoe came loose a little after this picture was taken.  My shoe was sliding around and being really annoying.  Fabulous.

I don't remember what this rock was called.  Maybe Independence Rock.  That sounds right.  I'm going with it.

This is us with Duane.  The pro biker.  I just get to darn scared on bike.  I don't know if I will ever be comfortable riding.  It is scary.  Is it not?

We saw lot's of these little guys.  The big horn sheep were out in full force.

Saturday night Mindy and Phil watched the kids and Janet and Duane took us to this yummy Italian restaurant.  We were there at five forty five and didn't leave till about eight thirty.  We had such a good time talking and listen to all of Duane's stories.  That guy is so animated you are never bored around him.

Sunday we took the kids on a little hike to the Mushroom rocks.  They had so much fun climbing in out, up and over rocks.  I took too many pictures.

They are serious hikers.  They do not mess around.

Janet and Duane loving my babies.  They were so sweet with my kids and my kids want to move there now.

I'm glad this little one didn't break a bone.  He was all over the place.  I thought for sure he was going to get hurt since he won't accept your help.  He does it himself!

And I'll leave you with this..............ya know, for your enjoyment.

This gives me the screamin thigh Duane would say.  Did I really just type that?  It's a joke peeps.

Thanks Janet and Duane for a fabulous weekend!

I gotta get going on my girls Halloween costumes.  I am way behind.  But excited for Halloween.  What are you or your kiddos being for Halloween?
